Harrison Mevis
Mevis has fully locked down the Rams' placekicking job for 2026 after winning the role outright last season, and he now steps into training camp as the unquestioned starter on a well-regarded, high-scoring offense.
Role
Mevis is the Rams' full-time kicker, handling all field-goal attempts and extra points; the team carried him as the only kicker on the 90-man roster into camp, and incumbent Joshua Karty was waived once Mevis proved himself down the stretch, so there is no real competition for the job. His preseason work (short field goals, clean PATs) is standard tune-up reps rather than an audition.
He took over as starter in November, converted 18 of 19 field goals and all 48 extra-point tries over the final 12 games including three playoff games, and plays for a Sean McVay offense that's expected to score a lot of points, which should keep his opportunities plentiful.
He's still just a second-year kicker with a small NFL sample size, missed his first career field goal late in a tight game last season, and kicker output is inherently volatile week to week regardless of talent or offensive scoring.
