Victor Ostman
Victor Ostman looks like organizational depth for Seattle: he is not in the NHL lineup reporting I found, and he made one NHL start last season, in April 2026.
Role
I found no current report putting him on Seattle's active roster. A 10/11/2026 Inside the Rink preview of the Kraken at Capitals lists Philipp Grubauer and Joey Daccord as the goaltenders, and it does not list Ostman. I fetched Daily Faceoff's Kraken line page (updated 12 October 2026), but the fetch cut off before the goalie section, so I have not read its goalie listing. Ostman is not in the skater lines I could read. The Kraken signed him on 10 July 2026 to a one-year two-way deal for 2026-27 at $850,000. Wikipedia's profile, which I did not date, describes him as a Coachella Valley (AHL) goalie under contract to Seattle. I could not confirm which roster he is on today. Last season he made 33 saves on 35 shots in his one NHL appearance, a 2-0 loss at Colorado on April 16, 2026, while Daccord and Grubauer were out. Nothing I found gives a goalie split with ice time or starts for him. Matt Murray is on ESPN's 2025-26 goalie list, but I found nothing on his status this season.
The Kraken's own recap praised his NHL debut. Head coach Lane Lambert said he liked Ostman's size and rebound control, and called it a very good first start on a back-to-back. He is 6-foot-4 and has gone from the ECHL to a full AHL season, where he went 17-15-3 with a 2.81 GAA and .906 save percentage in 36 games. If Daccord or Grubauer gets hurt again, he is the type of goalie Seattle has already recalled in an emergency.
His AHL numbers last season were ordinary: a 2.81 GAA and .906 save percentage. He has one NHL start, and that came in the final game against a team that was resting nothing and playing for seeding. Seattle has two established NHL goalies in Daccord and Grubauer, and the 10/11 preview lists them as the tandem. He signed a two-way deal and may be in the AHL, though I could not confirm where he is.
Where analysts split
Broad agreement. I found no analyst coverage of Ostman this season. The only open question is whether he gets recalled, and that depends on injuries to Daccord or Grubauer.
Research confidence: thin. Outlooks are grounded in web search over current reporting and refreshed through the season.
