John Konchar
Konchar is not an NBA player this season: he signed a two-year deal with Olympiacos in Greece, so he has no NBA role for the rest of 2026-27.
Role
None in the NBA. Hoops Rumors (reported about 3 days ago) says he signed with Olympiacos, and that he was waived by Minnesota in August and by the Knicks in September. He had signed a non-guaranteed Exhibit 9 deal with New York and was cut near the start of camp to deal with a personal matter. The reporting calls that decision mutual. No NBA team holds his rights as far as I found. I did not check NBA.com transactions. Last season with Utah he averaged 5.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 26.2 minutes over 26 games, starting seven.
There is no NBA bull case this season. The best argument for him is as a player: a 6-foot-5 wing who rebounds well for his size, can handle the ball a little, and defends multiple positions. Several teams, including Miami, Orlando and Toronto, were reported to have interest before he signed with New York. That interest does not change his current status.
He is overseas on a two-year contract, so he produces nothing in NBA fantasy scoring. Yardbarker's summary says he has never made a major impact on the box score, and his career averages are 4.3 points in 17.6 minutes over 363 games. Any NBA return would need a buyout or release from Olympiacos, and nothing I found suggests that is planned.
