Kobe Sanders

Consensus #171 · SF70 · tier 6Week 3: 3 gamesUpdated Nov 2

Sanders is a 24-year-old wing on a new four-year deal who, per a RotoWire blurb dated Oct 30, 2026, has started at least one game this season, but the evidence on how steady that role is comes only from fragments.

Role

RotoWire's player page (read via search snippet, not a full fetch, Oct 30, 2026) lists him starting Wednesday's game against the Lakers, per Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints. It also lists 12 points in 20 minutes in a 108-101 loss to the Thunder. That is the only in-season minutes figure I found. I did not find a published starting five, a minutes tracker, or beat-writer comment on whether the starting spot is his to keep. Last season he averaged 19.4 minutes over 68 games with 16 starts, per NBA.com's July 2026 signing story. That conflicts with the 6 GP and 834 MIN line in our data, so I am not using that line. The Clippers' acquisition of Max Strus was flagged by RotoWire as another obstacle to playing time, but the snippet carried no date, so I cannot say when it happened or how it affects him now. The hip issue caused him to miss a preseason game, and the coverage I found shows him back as a full practice participant ahead of the opener.

The case for

He shot 46.6% overall and 40.8% from three on 2.9 attempts per game last season, per NBA.com. He also scored a career-high 20 in a start when James Harden was a late scratch in January. The club re-signed him for four years, and NBA.com describes the Clippers as recasting the roster toward youth and development. Starting a game this season fits that reading.

The case against

Last season he started only 16 of 68 games, and RotoWire logged stretches where he was a coach's-decision DNP and a shift back to the bench. The Clippers have a reputation for rarely playing rookies. RotoWire also noted the Max Strus acquisition as a threat to his minutes, and a hip injury cost him preseason time. One start in the first week does not show a lasting role.

Where analysts split

I found no analyst debate on him. The open question is whether the start against the Lakers was a one-off or a lasting starting role, and the coverage I found does not settle it.

Research confidence: thin. Outlooks are grounded in web search over current reporting and refreshed through the season.
