Arseny Gritsyuk
Gritsyuk is a first-line left wing next to Jack Hughes and Jesper Bratt, with second-unit power-play time. He is scoring early, but the day-to-day wire note is the one open question.
Role
Daily Faceoff's line page (fetched 26 October, last updated 25 October from the 24 October game) has him at left wing on line 1 with Jack Hughes and Jesper Bratt. It puts him on the second power-play unit with Timo Meier, Evan Rodrigues, Anthony Mantha and Dougie Hamilton. He is not on either penalty-kill unit there, though an ESPN page from about four days earlier listed him on PK2 with Meier. Frozen Pool's last-game table for 24 October against Los Angeles showed that trio for 11:45 of even-strength time. I did not find his total ice time or a season average. The Hockey Writers (published today) says he began 2026-27 on the third line and was promoted to the Hughes-Bratt line. New Jersey Hockey Now dates the move to 13 October. The first power-play unit (Bratt, Hischier, Evangelista, Jack Hughes, Luke Hughes) is a separate group. The wire's day-to-day note is the one thing I could not tie to current reporting. No source I read described an injury or practice status for him.
He is on a top line with two elite playmakers and is producing. Inside The Rink noted he opened the scoring against Washington, and it also credited him with a goal against Anaheim. The Hockey Writers calls him one of New Jersey's most consistent players and says he is thriving beside Hughes and Bratt in his second NHL season. Frozen Pool's 24 October table shows the line with a 77.8 percent shot-attempt share in the minutes shown. He also has a power-play role.
The top-line spot is recent and rests on a promotion made after a slow start. His power-play time is on the second unit, behind a first unit that does not include him. Last season's 11 games, 9 points and 2 power-play points are a small sample. The line has changed before: Meier-Hischier-Evangelista and Mantha-Rodrigues-Mercer have rotated through the other lines in recent previews. The day-to-day wire note is also unresolved.
