Dylan Guenther
Guenther is a top-line right wing and a first-unit power-play regular for Utah, according to lineup pages dated Nov. 1, though I found no analyst commentary behind those pages.
Role
Inside the Rink's Nov. 1 preview for Utah at Philadelphia projected him on line 1 with Clayton Keller and Nick Schmaltz. It listed him on PP1 with Schmaltz, Logan Cooley, Keller and Mikhail Sergachev. A Nov. 1 tweet from the NHL Game Day Lines account gave the same PP1 group, with Michael Carcone on PP2 in his first game back from injury. ESPN's Utah line page, about 7 days old when indexed, also had him on line 1 and PP1. I did not fetch Daily Faceoff's page, so I cannot say what it shows today. His even-strength spot has moved: Inside the Rink's Oct. 22 preview had him on line 2 with Cooley and Vincent Trocheck, and Inside the Rink's Nov. 1 preview moved him up to line 1. For scale, last season he had 7 power-play points in 15 games, 10 points total, on 260 TOI. Competition for the right-wing work comes from Lawson Crouse, who was on line 1 in the Oct. 22 preview and line 2 in the Nov. 1 preview, and from Carcone and Kailer Yamamoto lower in the lineup. Ice time this season is not in anything I read.
The case for him is that he sits on a power-play unit that has Cooley, Schmaltz, Keller and Sergachev. He has also moved from line 2 to line 1 in the sources I read, which suggests the coaches trust him with top minutes.
The case against is that his line spot has changed between recent previews. His line-1 place is therefore not fixed, and the power play is the surer source of his production. One source, the Oct. 19 5v5 Hockey page, listed him at left defense on PP1, which looks like a data error and is not evidence of a role change.
Where analysts split
I found no analyst disagreement, only aggregator lineup pages. The open question is whether he stays on the Keller-Schmaltz line or goes back to the Cooley-Trocheck line, since previews dated Oct. 22 and Nov. 1 differ. His PP1 spot looks stable across sources.
