Jordan Kyrou
Kyrou is a top-six right wing on a line that just produced, and recent reporting has him on the first power-play unit, but the line has only been together for a short stretch.
Role
Inside the Rink's projection for the Nov 1 game against Minnesota (published Nov 1) has Kyrou at right wing with Alex Tuch and Dylan Strome. It lists him on the first power-play unit with Wilson, Strome, Ovechkin and Chychrun. The Dubois-centered line with Aliaksei Protas and Wilson is listed ahead of Kyrou's line in that projection, though Russian Machine Never Breaks called Kyrou's line the first line after the Oct 29 win over Philadelphia. That site reported the Tuch-Strome-Kyrou trio began when Dubois was out ill and has stayed together with the forwards healthy. I have no confirmed ice-time figure for this season. The Daily Faceoff page was fetched but returned only a stale snapshot (last updated October 2025), so I am not citing it. Beat writer Sammi Silber, quoted on gamedaytweets (undated, about 204 days old), warned that line order carries little weight for this team, which rolls four lines.
The line is working. On Oct 28 Kyrou scored twice against Philadelphia, including a power-play goal, and Tuch scored twice and Strome had three assists. Kyrou said after the game that the line is playing really well together, and the coaches kept it intact once everyone was healthy. He is also on PP1 in the Nov 1 projection. Pro Hockey Rumors (September) called him a possible career-year candidate as a feature piece of a prolific line.
The role is recent and has moved around. Locked On Capitals questioned his early line, Protas-Protas-Kyrou, about 24 days ago, citing a minus-3 and early offensive struggles. A 5v5hockey snapshot dated Oct 20 listed him on PP2, not PP1. Beat-writer lines on this team shift often. Last season's 13 games with Washington produced 11 points, and four of them came on the power play, so some of his production leans on special-teams deployment staying put.
Where analysts split
The open question is whether Kyrou keeps the Tuch-Strome-Kyrou line and the first power-play unit. The line only formed because Dubois was ill. The Oct 20 snapshot put Kyrou on PP2 and the Nov 1 projection puts him on PP1. Sources also disagree on whether this is Washington's first line or its second.
