Seth Jarvis
Jarvis is a third-line right wing who has played on the second power-play unit since coming off IR on Oct. 21. The wire's day-to-day note is the only caution on his availability.
Role
ESPN's line page (fetched Nov 2) has him on the third line with Jordan Martinook and Mark Jankowski. Carolina Hockey Now's projected lines (PuckPedia data, updated Oct 28, fetched Nov 2) show the same trio, with Martinook on left wing and Jankowski at center. ESPN has him on PP2 with Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Jankowski, and on PK2 with Sebastian Aho. Dobber's last-game page (Nov 1 vs. Winnipeg) shows him mostly with Jankowski and Martinook at even strength. It also shows short shifts with other linemates, including Aho, Kotkaniemi and Stankoven. Ice-time figures were not available in what I read. The first power-play unit is Ehlers, Aho, Blake and Svechnikov with Gostisbehere. Jarvis's even-strength competition is the group in the lineup: Carrier, Svechnikov, Blake and Ehlers sit above him. I did not find any practice report or coach update on the day-to-day designation.
He has the fullest role among the third-line wingers. He sits on PP2 and PK2 and plays alongside players who can slide up the lineup. Lines have been reshuffled often in October, and the Nov 1 shift data shows him with Aho at times. His season debut was Oct 21, after a stint on IR. The 5V5 Hockey site, which draws on Daily Faceoff's pre-game reporting, lists him as the team's highest-rated player on its ratings, and he is the Hurricanes' third-line right wing in every lineup I found. Optimists would expect a promotion to the top six if anyone in front of him struggles or gets hurt.
He is deployed on the third line behind Carrier, Aho and Svechnikov on line one and Ehlers, Stankoven and Blake on line two. His center, Jankowski, is a depth player, and the PP1 unit is set without him. The third line's usage was cautious on Nov 1, when the Jankowski-Martinook-Jarvis trio got only about 8:32 at even strength in the Dobber table. His line has been shuffled several times this month, so his linemates are not stable. The wire's day-to-day note adds some availability risk that I could not resolve.
Where analysts split
Broad agreement on his current slot: every lineup source I read has him on the third line. I found no analyst writing that argues over his role, so there is no debate here. What remains open is whether he gets promoted to a top-six role or PP1. No source I read took a position on that.
Research confidence: thin. Outlooks are grounded in web search over current reporting and refreshed through the season.
