Travis Konecny

Consensus #101 · RW22 · tier 8Week 5: 3 gamesUpdated Nov 2

Konecny was on Philadelphia's top line and second power-play unit going into Sunday, but the wire note says he went on injured reserve Sunday with a lower-body injury, so he is out for an unconfirmed stretch and I found no return timeline.

Role

Before the IR move he had the first-line right wing spot. Inside the Rink's 11/01 Flyers-Mammoth projection (a projection, not a Daily Faceoff read) had Zegras-Dvorak-Konecny on line 1 and Konecny on the second power-play unit with Dvorak, Foerster, Tippett and Bonk. A gamedaytweets post dated Oct 31 showed the same trio in practice, with Konecny on a second PP group. The first PP unit in those sources was Martone, Barkey, Michkov, Zegras and Drysdale. I could not see who replaced him on line 1 or the PP. The Daily Faceoff line page loaded only a stale 2025 snapshot with no names, so I am not reporting it. Minutes and the wing replacement are unconfirmed.

The case for

When healthy he has been kept on the top line with Zegras and Dvorak. He also has a PP2 role. The IR placement is only the wire note, and no source I found says the injury is long-term or gives a return date. If the absence is short he walks back into the same line, since nothing I found shows anyone taking the spot permanently.

The case against

A lower-body injury that needs an IR stint will cost him games, and I found no timeline. Last season he played only 6 games (5 points, 9 shots on goal), so availability is a real question. He is on the second PP unit, not the first, so his production leans on his even-strength line spot. Whoever fills that spot, such as Tippett, Foerster, Bump or Bunting, could settle in while he is out. That is speculation, not reported.

Where analysts split

Broad agreement on his role when healthy: first line, PP2. No analyst disagreement turned up. The open question is how long he is out and who takes line 1 right wing meanwhile. Neither is reported yet.

Research confidence: thin. Outlooks are grounded in web search over current reporting and refreshed through the season.
