John Poulakidas
Poulakidas is a free agent with no NBA team found in current reporting, so he has no active role for now.
Role
None that I can confirm. He has no roster spot, minutes or usage right now. Last season he was on a two-way deal with Dallas and the Texas Legends. Wikipedia (page about a week old) lists him as a free agent. I found no current reporting on a signing, camp invite or G League assignment.
He is a 6-foot-6 lefty shooter. MavsMoneyball's season review says he hit 47.3 percent from three on more than seven attempts per game over 24 G League games for San Diego. In 13 games with Dallas he averaged 8.8 points in 19.5 minutes and shot 40.3 percent from three (Basketball Reference). That is a real floor-spacing skill that could get him another look.
He went undrafted, was waived by the Clippers in camp, and only reached the NBA in March 2026 on a two-way deal. His Dallas sample is 13 games with 0 starts. He is currently unsigned, and the MavsMoneyball review leaves his future to the next front office. I found no analyst saying he has an NBA rotation path.
Where analysts split
Broad agreement, or more precisely no current analyst coverage to disagree. The open question is whether any team signs him, and I found nothing on that.
Research confidence: thin. Outlooks are grounded in web search over current reporting and refreshed through the season.
