Karlo Matković
Matković is a deep-league frontcourt option whose minutes depend on Yves Missi's knee injury and on whether Mosley keeps starting him over Derik Queen and DeAndre Jordan.
Role
NBC Sports (Oct 29) reported that Mosley started him against Sacramento and took DeAndre Jordan out of the rotation entirely. Matković played 28 minutes to Derik Queen's 22 and scored 12 points with four rebounds, three steals and one block. A Croatian outlet (Telegram.hr, about Oct 31) had him playing 18 minutes off the bench in a win at Atlanta, going 3-of-4 from the field and making both of his threes. That suggests the starting role did not carry over, though I did not read a box score or a confirmed starting five for that game. A SI preseason piece projected him at 12 minutes on opening night. Missi's return date is not confirmed in what I found. Competition for the center minutes is Queen, Missi when healthy, and Jordan, who is currently out of the rotation.
He is a mobile 6'10" big who can space the floor, and he made 3-of-4 threes in a preseason game and 4 of 11 across preseason, per SI. He out-produced Queen in his one start, and Mosley has shown he will change the center rotation. RotoWire notes he averaged 9.8 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 22.3 minutes over his final 32 games last season, once injuries thinned the roster.
The role looks temporary. NBC Sports tied his value to Missi staying out, and he returns to the edge of the rotation once Missi is back. He appeared in 62 games last season at 14.7 minutes, per NBC. RotoWire and CBS have described his past role as fringe. Queen is the longer-term investment, and the 18 minutes off the bench at Atlanta suggest the start was a one-night matchup call.
Where analysts split
Whether the Sacramento start was a lasting rotation change or a one-game stopgap while Missi is out. The reporting I found does not settle it, and I did not find a beat-writer piece addressing it directly.
Research confidence: thin. Outlooks are grounded in web search over current reporting and refreshed through the season.
