Thomas Bryant
Thomas Bryant looks like a third-string or emergency center for Cleveland, and his value depends on injuries or a trade ahead of him. The current evidence is thin.
Role
He re-signed on a one-year deal, reported by ESPN's Shams Charania via FTN and SI, as the primary backup behind Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley. In that same role he averaged 12.2 minutes and 6.2 points over 60 games. A Fox Sports item says he was left out of the rotation and did not play in a Thursday loss to Philadelphia, but the item is undated and I could not confirm it is this season's opener. I did not read a current rotation page, so I have no verified minutes or usage figure for this season. A CBS note from the previous season said he moved in and out of the rotation and got extra minutes when Allen or Mobley was out.
SI and FTN both say his minutes would jump if Cleveland trades Mobley or if Allen or Mobley misses time. CBS's notes from the last campaign show he took extra minutes off the bench when Allen was sidelined, including 15 minutes in one game and a stretch with Mobley out.
Fox Sports says Bryant projects mainly as a reserve big man with limited upside unless more minutes open up. FTN's recent note says he is not a DFS option because of workload concerns and that his return would not change the rotation. It also calls the role buried, and the Fox item says he did not play in a game.
Where analysts split
Broad agreement that he is a depth big man. The only open question is whether an Allen or Mobley absence, or a Mobley trade, gives him a real role. No analyst I found expects that to happen.
Research confidence: thin. Outlooks are grounded in web search over current reporting and refreshed through the season.
