Dak Prescott
Prescott is the Cowboys' every-week starting quarterback at 33, and his season has been uneven: his best game came when the run game was working, and his worst came when the offense leaned on him heavily.

He is the full-time starter with Lamb and Pickens as the main targets. Lamb caught 5 passes for 74 yards and 2 touchdowns against the Eagles, and Pickens had a touchdown. Ryan Flournoy had a 35-yard catch on third-and-8 in that game. Dallas ran 37 designed rushes against Philadelphia after Prescott threw 54 passes the week before against Green Bay. Javonte Williams ran for 155 yards and a touchdown, and Schottenheimer also praised a change-of-pace back he called Goody. Prescott also ran in a two-point conversion. I did not find snap or target-share tracker data, so I have no exact shares. The reporting does not say whether he is a regular goal-line runner.
Optimists say the offense can score in bunches when it has balance. Prescott's passer rating was 118.1 with no turnovers, and the offensive line gave him time. Dallas put up 38 points on over 400 yards. The Cowboys are 3-4 and back in the NFC East race. One PFN analyst wrote that the team has the explosive capability to score in bunches.
Skeptics say one good night against a hobbled Eagles team that PFN described as playing backups does not fix the problems. The Cowboys had scored 29 combined points in Weeks 5 and 6. Prescott threw two interceptions in the Week 6 loss to Green Bay, and that game included his 54 attempts. He has also been through losses to the Giants, Ravens, Buccaneers and Packers. Reporting says the offense depends on the line and the run game, which may not repeat each week. Dallas's defense is also questioned, and a weak defense can push the offense into pass-heavy game scripts.

The disagreement is about whether the Week 7 balance is repeatable. One side says Schottenheimer committed to the run, the line controlled the game and Prescott benefits.
