His TD targets in that game were Bhayshul Tuten (2), Travis Hunter (1) and rookie TE Nate Boerkircher (1). Brian Thomas Jr. had zero second-half snaps, per WRUF's takeaways. Jacksonville is 4-2 and came off a bye into a Week 8 game against the Colts. I did not find a current snap-share or target-share table, so I give no percentages.
He enters Week 8 with a 14:4 TD:INT ratio and consecutive 300-yard games (CBS/RotoWire, Oct 18). Preseason outlooks from CBS and Yahoo called him an ascending top-tier QB in Coen's play-action offense, with a deep set of pass catchers including Hunter, Jakobi Meyers and Tuten. The offense also moves the ball enough to score 31 against Houston despite penalties and wasted early drives.
NBC Sports (Oct 18) said he struggled under pressure in the Texans game. He threw an end-zone interception, was sacked four times behind a shaky line and lost two fumbles on sacks (both recovered by Jacksonville). Penalties have hurt the offense for three straight weeks (ESPN), and the red zone was a problem. Thomas has been a disappointment, and Jacksonville settled for a game-tying field goal on fourth-and-short, so TD conversions are not guaranteed. Preseason, CBS also flagged that his rushing touchdowns from last year are unlikely to repeat.
