He has no snaps or touches to project. ESPN reported he was placed on IR and that Jameis Winston would start in his place. NBC Philadelphia reported Winston as the starter from here on out. A CBS Sports item lists Russell Wilson among the Giants' quarterbacks since last season, but I did not find a current depth chart. I did not read the Giants' depth chart or injury report, so I make no claim about the current QB2.
The surgery was quick, four days after the injury, and Harbaugh called that a good sign. ACL damage was ruled out. Rapoport put the recovery at about six months and said Dart should be healthy by spring, with a full recovery by 2027. Harbaugh left open a playoff return. Rotoballer (Oct 10) noted that Dart scored 26.6 points in Week 1 and finished that week as QB4.
Reports describe the injury as a full meniscus tear plus MCL and PCL damage. CBS Sports and The Athletic called it season-ending. The four-to-six-month timeline runs from January to March, and the playoffs begin Jan. 16. Rotoballer said durability concerns scared off some managers before the season. NBC Philadelphia noted five concussion tests and two games missed with a head injury as a rookie, plus another concussion test in the 2026 preseason.

The only open question is whether Dart returns for a playoff run. Harbaugh and ESPN left that door open, while CBS Sports says the season is expected to be over. The recovery windows reported are four to six months from Garafolo and six months from Rapoport. For the regular season there is broad agreement that he is out.
