He is the Packers' unquestioned starting QB with no injury designation. FantasyPros listed him as a back concern without a designation for the Detroit game (checked about 8 days ago), and the Detroit game showed a full workload at 45 attempts. Christian Watson and Matthew Golden are the lead targets in FantasyPros' expert note. Josh Jacobs drives the offense when active (Yahoo, preseason). I found no snap-share or target-share tracker figures, so I give none. Last season's per-game attempts are not in the data I hold, so I give none.
FantasyPros' expert note says Watson and Golden are beating NFL secondaries and Love is letting it rip. A FantasySP note from about 10 days ago cites a 367-yard, two-touchdown game against Chicago, improving pass protection, and deep-throw success. Before Detroit, FantasyPros had his Week 7 projection at 19.2 points and ranked him QB2 for the week. PFN's preseason metrics also favored him: 0.26 EPA per dropback, second in the NFL, and a completion percentage over expectation third in the league.
Green Bay's run-heavy lean caps his volume. PFN's preseason outlook said the coach stopped letting him throw, with attempts per game at 34.0 in 2023, 28.3 in 2024 and 29.2 in 2025, and Yahoo said Jacobs limits Love's volume when active. Yahoo also flagged that if Watson or Tucker Kraft goes down, things get hard for a pocket passer. Pass protection and offensive line questions came up in the FantasySP timeline. He threw an interception in the 20-17 loss in Detroit.
Where analysts split
The disagreement is volume. Does Green Bay keep letting Love throw 40-plus times as it did in Detroit, or does it return to the run-first approach that held him to under 30 attempts per game? Preseason PFN pieces split on this. One expected enough volume in close games, and another said the run-heavy offense was the main obstacle. I found no current-week analysis that settles it.
