Josh Oduro

Consensus #210 · PF83 · tier 6Updated Oct 26

Oduro is not on an NBA roster. RealGM and Wikipedia say he signed with Melbourne United in Australia's NBL, so he has no NBA role this season unless an NBA club signs him.

Role

No NBA minutes, usage or starting role are reported. His only NBA games came with the Pelicans last April: three games, 27.0 minutes per game, one start, and a first career double-double (12 points, 12 rebounds in 24 minutes) in his second game. RotoWire noted in July that he was unsigned and likely to seek an Exhibit 10 deal. A RealGM Wiretap item, dated about 90 days ago, reports the Melbourne United signing. I did not find an NBL source or a club announcement confirming it, and I did not check NBA.com transactions.

The case for

He was productive in the minors, averaging 15.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.1 blocks in 43 G League games for Birmingham. He also posted 8.3 points and 7.7 rebounds in his three Pelicans games. A team short on big men could sign him: a Bright Side of the Sun piece from about a day ago listed him among available free-agent centers. That list is a general roster of names and not a report that any team is interested.

The case against

The NBA sample is only three games, and the Pelicans did not tender him a qualifying offer. The reported Melbourne deal means he is playing abroad. The Suns article's list may simply be out of date, and if so he is not available to NBA teams at all. I found no report of any NBA team pursuing him.
