Kadary Richmond
Richmond is a fringe, non-rotation player right now: he is listed as a free agent, and the only current evidence I found points to G League depth rather than an NBA role.
Role
No NBA role is confirmed. I found no current reporting on minutes, usage, starts or competition for playing time. Wikipedia (checked today) lists him with the G League's Cleveland Charge for 2026 to present. RotoWire's page says he agreed to a deal with the Cavaliers in September 2026, and that he could compete for a regular-season roster spot in training camp. I did not find a transaction record that dates a waiver or a Cleveland roster move, so how he went from the Cavaliers deal to free agent is unconfirmed. His NBA experience is small: three games last season for Washington, at 22.3 minutes per game, per ESPN.
He is a 6-foot-6 playmaking guard with defensive instincts. Last season with the G League's Capital City Go-Go he averaged 10.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.4 steals in 25.7 minutes over 36 games (RotoWire). Scouts long rated his defensive playmaking and passing as his best NBA skills (SI scouting report). If a team needs a wing who defends and passes, he could get a short-term deal or a call-up.
He went undrafted, and SI tied that to his age and his struggles as a perimeter shooter. He has played only 3 NBA games, and none of the coverage I found describes a guaranteed rotation spot. As a free agent he has no team and no minutes. Even if he signs somewhere, a two-way or 10-day deal usually means sporadic playing time.
Where analysts split
Broad agreement. I found no current analyst debate about him, and the open question is a factual one: whether any NBA team signs him and gives him a role.
Research confidence: thin. Outlooks are grounded in web search over current reporting and refreshed through the season.
