Kyle Kuzma
Kuzma is a starting-caliber forward on a Bucks team without Giannis Antetokounmpo. He is playing 27 or more minutes a game, but his scoring has been modest and his night off for rest on Wednesday against the Bulls (per the wire note) shows he is being managed.
Role
CBS Sports/RotoWire's recap of the Wizards game says he remains in the starting lineup. He has played at least 27 minutes in every game so far, including 27 against Washington and a team-high 35 against the 76ers on Saturday. ESPN's splits (L10, 3 games) show 30.7 minutes, 11.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists. Preseason reporting on Fox Sports said Kel'el Ware would enter the starting five in his place for a double-big look in one game, and a Fox headline said a roster redesign lets him play his natural position. I could not date or confirm either item as the current regular-season starting five. In the Washington game he was outscored by reserves Kasparas Jakucionis and Brayden Burries. I did not find a published usage rate or a rotation tracker page, and I did not fetch one.
The workload is steady, with 27 or more minutes every game and a 12-rebound double-double on Saturday. CBS notes that this gives him some stability. The Bucks have lost Giannis and have several unsettled spots, which leaves room for him as a forward who can rebound, pass and take steals (three against Washington).
His scoring is inefficient and ordinary. He has not reached 15 points in any game despite the minutes, and he shot 2-9 against Washington. He went 0-6 in the preseason opener. Milwaukee has several other offensive options, and younger players have outscored him off the bench. The rest night on Wednesday, plus his Achilles tendinopathy that cost him games last season (per FantasyData), makes his availability less certain. CBS closed last season's coverage by noting his role is worth monitoring.
Where analysts split
The open question is whether he keeps a starting job and 27 or more minutes as the Bucks try double-big lineups with Ware and young guards. I did not find a named analyst arguing either side, only the CBS/RotoWire notes and Fox's preseason items. Whether he is a reliable rebounder or only a minutes-dependent one is a related question that the coverage leaves open.
Research confidence: thin. Outlooks are grounded in web search over current reporting and refreshed through the season.
