Leonard Miller

Consensus #225 · PF62 · tier 7Week 3: 3 gamesUpdated Oct 26

Miller is a young forward who played his way into the Bulls' rotation with a strong preseason, but I found no regular-season sample or confirmed role to judge him on yet.

Role

Not confirmed. StatMuse's game log (seen in search, not fetched) shows him playing 26 minutes in the Oct. 21 opener at Toronto, so he is in the rotation. I did not find a starting-five report, a minutes tracker or a usage figure. Roundtable.io says he made 12 starts in 27 games with Chicago after the February trade and played 624 minutes. Dunking with Wolves expects him to be in the rotation regularly this season. Who competes with him for frontcourt minutes is not covered in what I read. The wire lists a right adductor strain with him probable, so I add nothing on that.

The case for

He was the Bulls' best preseason player. SI.com says he scored at least 12 points in every preseason game and had 26 on 11-of-14 shooting against Denver, and he had a double-double in another game. Dunking with Wolves reports he averaged 11.7 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists after the deadline. In a rebuilding year he has a real runway, and coach Tiago Splitter has sounded happy with him per SI.com. He is 6'10" with a 7'2" wingspan.

The case against

The regular-season sample is tiny and bad. StatMuse's log shows 4 points on 2-of-9 shooting with 5 turnovers in 26 minutes at Toronto, a 43-point loss. Da Windy City asks whether he can adjust once the league adjusts to him, which is the usual risk with a young player on a hot streak. Preseason efficiency, such as 4-of-6 from three against Denver, may not carry over. His contract extension is reportedly still undecided, and the coverage I read gave no detail on it.

Where analysts split

The open question is whether the preseason and post-trade production is a sustainable rotation role or a hot stretch against weak competition. The coverage I found is mostly optimistic, and no analyst I read argues the bear side directly.

Research confidence: thin. Outlooks are grounded in web search over current reporting and refreshed through the season.
