Goedert is Jalen Hurts' most-used pass catcher for as long as the Eagles' backfield and receiver injuries last, though the volume so far is mostly short check-downs.

PhillyVoice's Week 5 snap count (published about the Jaguars game) has him at 43 snaps, well ahead of Johnny Mundt (20), E.J. Jenkins (12) and Zach Ertz (7). I found no snap percentage. He led the team in targets and catches with 6 of 9 for 38 yards, per CBS and NBC. Both outlets say he played without Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith. CBS puts his line at 11-119-2 on 16 targets through three games, while PFF's page shows 15 targets, so the target total is off by one between sources. I did not find a beat-writer depth chart, and I did not fetch the team's own depth chart.
CBS says the depleted backfield and receiver room could leave him as Hurts' favorite option in the short term. NBC says that if the check-down role continues, he should catch enough passes to sustain borderline TE1 numbers until Smith returns. He also has two touchdown catches this season, and the trackers list him with the most targets in the Week 5 game.
The Week 5 work was low-value: six catches for 38 yards, and NBC says much of it was check-downs. The usage depends on injuries to others, so it could shrink when Smith returns. He is 31 and just came back from a knee injury. The sources disagree on how many games he missed, with CBS saying two and NBC saying three.
Where analysts split
The open question is whether the Week 5 target volume lasts once Smith and Barkley are back, and whether the check-down role produces yardage. I found no sharp analyst split. CBS and NBC both expect short-term usage and differ mainly on how good the production will be.
