McPherson is the Bengals' set starting kicker and has made every kick this season, so his output depends on how much Cincinnati's offense gives him to kick.

He is the lone kicker handling all field goals and extra points. Rotowire (via ESPN, checked 13 October) says he has attempted only one field goal in each of his last two games. He went 4-for-4 on field goals in Week 1 and 2-for-2 in Weeks 2 and 3. I found no competing kicker on the roster in this season's coverage. I did not read the official depth chart.
He has not missed in the preseason or regular season, per Rotowire via CBS and ESPN. He has made five field goals from 50-plus yards, including 55, 57 and 58-yarders. Rotowire calls him a weekly K1 and says his floor is elevated as long as Joe Burrow's offense keeps moving the ball. Fox Sports lists him as the AFC Special Teams Player of the Month for September.
Field-goal volume has fallen. Burrow's four touchdown passes in Miami limited him to one attempt and four extra points, and that was his second straight game with one attempt. A high-scoring offense turns drives into touchdowns rather than field-goal tries. His 2024 field-goal rate of 72.7 percent (Heavy) and the groin injury and injured-reserve stint that same season (SI) show his accuracy can slip. A perfect start is a small sample.
