Likely is the Giants' leading pass catcher and a full-time tight end/slot hybrid in an offense that runs through him and Malik Nabers, and nothing in the reporting I found suggests that changes.
Role
Per FantasyPros' Week 5 note he has an 81.1% route share, a 30.4% target share and a 34.1% first-read share, with six red zone targets. Empire Sports Media reported 69% of snaps in Week 2, and FantasyData reported 77% of snaps and 85% of routes over Weeks 2 and 3. SI says he leads the team with 33 catches on 47 targets for 284 yards and four touchdowns through five games. Competition comes from Malik Nabers, who was also very productive in the Week 5 tie. Theo Johnson is the other tight end: he had two catches for 35 yards in the tie, per Yahoo's game grades. I did not find a current snap-share figure for Johnson or Chris Manhertz.
He is a mismatch that Washington could not cover (Yahoo gave the tight ends an A+ for the tie). Target volume is large and has held up. He also has red zone work, and a role that includes moving around the formation and playing the slot. FantasyPros had him as TE6 in points per game before Week 5, and he then posted a career-high 11 catches.
Production has been uneven. Jaxson Dart is out for the season with a knee injury, so Jameis Winston is throwing to him. Reports said his output dropped after Week 1, with 13 yards in Week 3 and seven catches for 46 yards in the first two games with Winston. FantasyPros' three-game average (57.7 yards, 0.7 touchdowns) is well below the Week 5 spike. Nabers is healthy and also producing, so Likely's share could shrink, and touchdown-driven weeks are hard to repeat.
Where analysts split
Broad agreement on his role and target volume. The open question is whether the Week 5 efficiency (11 of 13) is sustainable with Winston at quarterback, or whether the lower yardage of the Winston games is closer to the norm. I found no named analyst arguing this directly; it is my reading of the game logs.
