Coleman is Buffalo's No. 3 receiver whose workload depends on DJ Moore's availability: he has been a fringe piece when Moore plays and a real target earner when Moore is out.

RotoWire's usage breakdown, as relayed by Yahoo, had him at 77% of snaps before Moore left the Patriots game and 78% after. StatPick lists him as WR-3 with a 63% snap share and 14% target share over four games. Sumer Sports shows 94 routes and a 14.29% target share for 2026. He competes with Moore, Khalil Shakir (8 targets to Coleman's 7 in Week 4) and Joshua Palmer, who FantasyPros-linked coverage says was unavailable in Week 4. I did not find a current depth chart page, so the WR-3 label comes from StatPick. I did not verify Moore's status for the next game.
With Moore out, Coleman went to a 20.3% target share, 3.58 yards per route run and a 29.7% first-read share (FantasyPros, Weeks 2 and 4). He also had two red zone targets and one deep target in those games. He caught 6 of 7 targets for 116 yards and a touchdown in Week 4, and has 14 catches on 16 targets for 217 yards through four games. His snaps barely moved when Moore left, so the job is already there. If Moore plays and draws Trent McDuffie's coverage, that could free Coleman up.
When Moore plays a full-time role (Weeks 1 and 3), Coleman's target share was only 5.5% with a 7.4% first-read share, per FantasyPros. Six of his seven Week 4 targets came after Moore exited. Yahoo notes Shakir out-targeted him and says the opposing team's missing top cornerback made the game easier. Both Yahoo and StatPick caution against expecting 116 yards on seven targets every week. FantasyPros calls him essentially Moore's handcuff, and if Moore is out he could draw McDuffie's shadow coverage.

The question is whether Coleman has a role of his own or only inherits targets when Moore is hurt. FantasyPros reads him as a handcuff with a wide range of outcomes. StatPick sees a growing role backed by his 78% snap share, but still a modest 14% target share for a WR-3. Yahoo's analysis lands between them: his playing time is stable and his targets are not.
