Kyle Pitts Sr.
Pitts started the season as a low-usage tight end and has become a red-zone and short-target piece in Atlanta's offense, with a touchdown in three straight games, but his snap share is still modest.
Role
In Week 7 he played 37 of 67 snaps and ran a route on 20 of 37 dropbacks (NBC Sports, preliminary counts). Charlie Woerner (11 routes) and Austin Hooper (10) shared the tight end work. FantasyPros had him at a 71.1% snap rate and 19.1% target share since Week 5, but Week 7 snaps were lower than that. He tied for second on the team in targets with 5, behind Drake London (10) and level with Bijan Robinson (5), per Draft Sharks. Michael Penix Jr. is the quarterback.
Usage has trended up since the early weeks. FantasyPros cited a 67.1% route share, 19.1% target share, 1.92 yards per route run, five red-zone targets and a 20% first-read share since Week 5. He has scored in three straight games, and ESPN calls him a reliable red-zone target for Penix. Draft Sharks says his target share held up even when his route rate dipped.
Early in the season he was barely involved: FantasyPros noted a 7.6% target share and zero red-zone targets at one point. NBC Sports says his snaps and routes are not enough for consistent production while London is healthy. His Week 7 catches were short (4.4 yards per catch, per ESPN), and the Falcons keep several tight ends on the field. FantasyPros also flagged that he has done little against single-high defenses.
Where analysts split
Whether the recent target share and touchdown run are a lasting role or a hot streak. FantasyPros and Draft Sharks lean toward a real role, citing route share, target share and red-zone looks. NBC Sports points to the 37-of-67 snaps and the split tight end group as a ceiling on that role.
