Team defense, so there are no snap or touch shares. Current reporting (Sportsnaut, Week 8) says Myles Garrett has no timeline to return, and Kobie Turner and Poona Ford are on injured reserve. Sportsnaut credits a remade cornerback room for keeping the unit afloat. Week 8 is vs. LAC, with the Rams favored by 6.5 and the total around 43.5 (Rotoballer). The Chargers are 0-6 and come out of their bye with a broken offense. Rotoballer says they rank last in EPA per play, giveaways and points per game, 31st in sacks allowed per game, and 30th in pass block win rate. The unit has underperformed. Rotoballer says the Rams have scored under seven fantasy points in five straight games, with only three sacks over the last three weeks. Garrett is still out, with no return timeline reported, and Turner and Ford are now on IR. Sportsnaut says quarterbacks can go downfield against the weakened rush, and cites Kirk Cousins hitting Tre Tucker for 5-103-1. Football Nation also flags uncertainty about Rams defenders who missed Week 7.

The disagreement is about ranking, not about the unit's quality. Sportsnaut ranks the Rams 5th, behind Jacksonville, New England, Pittsburgh and Kansas City. SI has them 1st, Lindy's 2nd, and Rotoballer 3rd. The open question is whether the soft matchup outweighs a depleted front. Analysts agree it is a strong one-week spot, and nobody has shown that the pass rush has recovered. I found no Rams-specific coverage past this week, so rest-of-season views are thin.
