Role
This is a full-unit DEF slot with no snap or target competition. Coordinator Brian Flores runs a 4-3 base with many two-high nickel looks and, per NBC Sports (about a week ago), blitzes on over 70 percent of snaps. The same piece has Minnesota first in scoring defense and sacks, tied for third in takeaways, and the highest-scoring fantasy defense after the first month. Sportsnaut's Week 6 rankings have Minnesota No. 1. In Week 5 at New Orleans it held the Saints to 3.3 yards per play, a 20% third-down rate, one red-zone trip and three turnovers. Through five games it has allowed 12 red-zone trips, only three of them touchdowns, and a 22.2% third-down conversion rate. Rotoballer's top-four D/ST group scored in double figures last week, and Minnesota's 11 fantasy points was one of those scores.
A preseason Fantasy Life preview expected a slight step back after the team lost some front-seven talent. That has not shown up in results so far. The heavy blitz rate is high-variance by nature. The offense is also weak: FTN's early-season page ranked it 26th in DVOA, which can leave the defense on the field in tough spots, though that figure is from early in the season. I found no source arguing that the defense will fade.

Broad agreement that this is a top-tier defense. The only mild difference is in the numbers: Draft Sharks' Oct. 13 weekly page puts its consensus projection for the week at 4.7, but its full table is cut off in my results, so I can't tell how it is ranked that week. Its season-long ranking is No. 4. The sources I found don't state a specific question on which analysts disagree.
