Malik Nabers
Nabers looks like the Giants' clear No. 1 receiver this season, coming off a 12-catch, 165-yard game against the Saints and a 20-target game the week before.

He leads the Giants in targets, with 46 over the first five games per Empire Sports Media. RotoWire lists a 28.4% team target share and 35.4% of team air yards. Per Yahoo, he played 79 of 89 snaps in the Week 5 tie with Washington. Per Player Profiler via Heavy, he had 40 slot snaps through that game, as offensive coordinator Matt Nagy moves him around. Isaiah Likely is the main target competitor: 11 targets against the Saints and a share of the team lead in catches against Washington. RotoWire's depth chart table named Malachi Fields as the other receiver listed, but I could not read his snap share. Darius Slayton and Darnell Mooney are also on the receiver depth chart per RotoWire's preseason text. Jameis Winston is the quarterback. He was benched for J.J. McCarthy in the fourth quarter against the Saints.
There is little target competition: RotoWire says nobody would stop a healthy Nabers from dominating targets. Big Blue View wrote after the Saints game that there can't be much doubt he is back to dominant form. Nagy is now using him in the slot and on vertical routes, and he has produced with whoever is throwing to him. He has back-to-back 100-plus-yard games with Winston, and his Week 6 line of 12 catches on 15 targets for 165 yards was the third-highest yardage total of his career.
The production has been uneven, and some of it came from game script. He cleared 70 yards only once in the first four games, and had one catch for 1 yard against the Rams. The 20 and 15 target games came while the Giants were trailing. The quarterback situation is unstable: Winston is a feast-or-famine passer who threw two interceptions and was benched against the Saints, with McCarthy coming in. Likely is also drawing heavy volume. Nabers is also still recovering from last year's ACL tear and had a minor knee soreness and a Week 2 shoulder injury this year, though he has no current designation. Big Blue View also criticized his effort on one interception.
Where analysts split
Broad agreement on his role as the top target. The open question is whether the volume holds when the Giants aren't trailing, and whether the quarterback change from Winston to McCarthy affects his production. I found no analyst commentary on that quarterback question.
