Matt Gay
Gay is the Raiders' settled starting kicker and has been accurate this season: ESPN's page shows 14 of 15 field goals and all 14 extra points through the Bills game.
Role
He is the only kicker on the roster that I found reported. SB Nation (via Yahoo) said the Raiders waived rookie Kansei Matsuzawa after preseason, leaving Gay as the kicker heading into the regular season. He handles field goals, extra points and kickoffs. His volume has been steady: ESPN's game log shows 3 field goals against the Bills, 4 against the Chiefs and 3 at New Orleans. His opportunities depend on how often Las Vegas drives into range and scores. I did not read a depth chart page, so I am not citing one.
He is accurate and the job is secure for now. ESPN's 2026 line (checked 20 October) has him 14 of 15 on field goals, including a 59-yarder against the Chargers, and 14 of 14 on extra points. PFF, in a page indexed earlier in the season, graded his field-goal work 10th among 32 kickers. SB Nation noted he succeeded under special teams coordinator Joe DeCamillis with the Rams in 2021-22, and DeCamillis is now with the Raiders.
SB Nation described him as a so-so kicker in recent years who played for two teams last season, and said kicker job security is a week-to-week audition. He missed a field goal in the Patriots loss, a 45-17 game. PFF's earlier page graded his kickoffs 32nd of 32 kickers. His fantasy output also depends on a Raiders offense that has lost recent games, and I found no reporting on how that offense is expected to trend.
Where analysts split
Broad agreement. I found no analyst split on his role. The only open question is whether his accuracy holds, since SB Nation called his recent history mixed. That is a caution, not a disagreement.
Research confidence: reported. Outlooks are grounded in web search over current reporting and refreshed through the season.
