Nick Folk
Folk is Atlanta's set kicker for the rest of the season. He started with three misses in each of his first two games, then made all six of his field-goal tries over the next three games.
Role
He is the Falcons' only kicker in the coverage I found, and I found no competitor. He handles all field goals and extra points, so his volume depends on how often Atlanta's offense gets into scoring range. ESPN's player page (checked 13 October) shows him with 3-for-3 on field goals and 2-for-2 on extra points against Baltimore. His long this season is 51 and his season total is 39 points. The Falcons play the Bears in Week 6 on Oct. 18. I did not read a depth chart and found no snap-style usage data, since kickers do not have one.
He has the track record. The Falcons' signing announcement says he led the NFL in field goal percentage in each of the last three seasons, and he made 96.6% of his tries with the Jets in 2025. Special teams coordinator Craig Aukerman, who coached him in Tennessee, said the team has "No concerns" about the early misses. ESPN notes his three makes against the Ravens were his most this season, and he has made every field-goal try over the last three games, including a 48-yarder late in the fourth quarter. Rotowire called him a viable option after his Week 3 bounce-back against the Packers.
He is 41 and turns 42 on Nov. 5 per Heavy. His misses were not all from long range or bad weather. His 41-yard make against Carolina was Atlanta's only scoring that night, and he also missed a 53-yarder in that game. PFF's 2026 page, which may be stale, had him 27th of 32 kickers in grade and 31st in field-goal percentage, with 1 of 3 from 50-plus. ESPN's current figure is 75.0% for the season. The Falcons are also 0-2 after two losses, and an inconsistent offense means uneven kicking volume.
