Roman Wilson
Wilson is out of the lineup until at least Week 11 with a dislocated finger on his left hand, and he returns to a receiver room that is thin now but may not stay that way.
Role
Before the injury he was a downfield option for Aaron Rodgers: 14 catches on 25 targets for 188 yards and two touchdowns in the first five games (Yahoo Sports, Oct 17). He is the team's third-leading receiver in yards (Rotoballer, Oct 17). I found no snap share in the coverage I read. The Steelers' bye is in Week 9, so the earliest he can return is Week 11 against the Eagles on Nov. 22 (CBS Sports/RotoWire). He would miss the Buccaneers, Saints, Browns and Bengals games (Yahoo Sports). While he is out, DK Metcalf and rookie Germie Bernard lead the group. CBS lists Bernard as WR2. Brandon Johnson, Brandon Smith and return specialist Kaden Wetjen are the other receivers named (Yahoo Sports). Michael Pittman Jr. is also on IR, and Ben Skowronek is dealing with a calf issue (Steelers Depot).
He was in the middle of a Year 3 breakout and was building chemistry with Rodgers (Yahoo Sports). Pittman and Skowronek are also hurt, and Rodgers said the team is down to "in-house options." If Wilson comes back healthy in Week 11 or later, the targets he built up early could be available again.
The injury was first expected to cost him only a couple of weeks and then became at least four games (Steelers Depot). He barely played as a rookie because of injuries and did little in 2025 (Yahoo Sports). Pittman could be eligible to return for the Bengals game if activated (Yahoo Sports), which would mean more competition. He is a smaller-role receiver who is entirely out of the picture for now.
Where analysts split
Broad agreement on the near term: he is out for at least four games and Bernard is the main beneficiary. I found no analyst split. The one open question is whether his five-game production holds once he returns, and the coverage I read does not argue it either way.
Injury: IR: assessed avoid
Finger injury, placed on IR
Wilson is on IR with a finger injury and cannot return until at least Week 11 (Nov. 22). He was already a low-snap-share WR behind Metcalf, Pittman, and Bernard, so he's unrosterable in fantasy for the foreseeable future.
What would change this: Any practice return news as the Week 11 window approaches.
Research confidence: reported. Outlooks are grounded in web search over current reporting and refreshed through the season.
