Odunze is Chicago's lead snap-getting receiver, but his volume has been capped through five games by backup quarterbacks, and his ceiling for the rest of the season depends on how soon Caleb Williams is back.

FantasyData (checked in the last two days) calls him the clear snap leader of the WR corps and the only wideout with an 80% snap share, which he has reached in three games. SumerSports shows a 16.53% target share and 123 routes run this season. FantasyPros had him at 15.2% target share with six deep targets, the team lead, before the Packers game. RotoWire's game notes show him at 3 of 4 targets vs. Minnesota, 3 of 6 vs. Philadelphia and 2 of 3 vs. Carolina in Week 1. The Packers game was 3 of 9. Competition for targets is Luther Burden III and tight end Colston Loveland. RotoWire said Chicago moved on from DJ Moore and Olamide Zaccheaus in the offseason. FantasyData also has Kalif Raymond ahead of him in the Keenum start. I did not fetch a current Bears depth chart, so I am not reporting a listed position.
He still leads the room in routes and snaps, and Williams' return should restore a better passing offense. Williams was 21 of 29 for 269 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 1 win over Carolina. Over two games against two-high looks, FantasyPros had him with a 29% target-per-route rate before the Packers game. Ben Johnson said Williams is "on track" and that a Week 6 return at Atlanta will be "close." Last season he showed he can be Williams' first read when the offense works.
His target share has stayed modest this year, in the 14% to 17% range in the trackers. He has not scored this season per FantasyData's latest note, which predates the Packers game. Behind Bagent and Keenum he caught 3 of 9 targets for 40 yards and lost a fumble on fourth down. The Bears' passing offense was bad in that game: Bagent went 12 of 21 for 87 yards with two interceptions, and Keenum went 11 of 19 for 108 yards. Burden, Loveland and the run game take volume, and Chicago leads the NFL in rushing per AP. Williams' return is not guaranteed for Week 6. Johnson was non-committal, so more weeks with the backups are possible.

The open question is whether Odunze's modest target share reflects the backup quarterbacks or a real ceiling in a split offense. FantasyData and FantasyPros call him unstable but note his snaps and route lead. Optimists expect Williams' return to lift his volume. Skeptics point to Burden, Loveland and the run-heavy offense. Williams' return date is also unsettled. I found no source putting a number on how much he gains with Williams back.
