Tre' Harris

Consensus #243 · WR83Week 2: vs LV, 23rd vs WRUpdated Sep 1

I could not find current in-season coverage on Tre' Harris beyond a preseason injury item, so treat everything below as background rather than a read on his present role.

Role

Background only, not verified for the current week: Harris is the Chargers' 2025 second-round rookie receiver (Ole Miss), drafted into a room fronted by Ladd McConkey with Quentin Johnston and Keenan Allen also competing for perimeter and slot work, plus tight end and back targets in Greg Roman's/Jim Harbaugh's offense. Rookie outside receivers in this scheme have historically seen boom-or-bust target volume tied to game script. I have no reliable current snap share, route rate or target share to give you — check a snap-count table for his last two or three games before setting a lineup.

The case for

Optimists point to his draft capital, size and contested-catch profile, and argue that as the season goes on he becomes the clear No. 2 target behind McConkey with red-zone and boundary work that McConkey does not do.

The case against

Sceptics note the Chargers spread targets, that Johnston and the veteran presence in the room cap his route participation, and that a run-leaning, tight-end-friendly offense leaves a rookie WR2/3 with too few targets to trust weekly.

Where analysts split

Unresolved on my evidence: the real question is whether he is a full-time three-down route runner or a rotational piece, and I found no current reporting to settle it.

Research confidence: none. Outlooks are grounded in web search over current reporting and refreshed through the season.
