Hutchinson is a rotational depth receiver on a low-scoring Houston offense, and the one current report I found has him leading the team in receiving without a full-time role.

NBC Sports' recap, dated October 11, 2026, has him on 27 of 65 snaps (about 42%). It has Kayshon Boutte on 39 of 65 as the main third receiver. The same recap says he led Houston in receiving, which fits the wire note of four catches on five targets for 65 yards. It also describes a Nick Caley receiver platoon with no clear lead. I did not read a current depth chart, so I can't say where he is listed. I found no current snap or target-share tracker for the full season.
He led the team in receiving on a day when the passing game was efficient. NBC's recap says he had no contested drops, a step up from earlier in the year. If the platoon stays unsettled, his targets could stay steady. Several of the pages I found were undated or old and described earlier Houston seasons. They showed him holding the WR3 job over rookies and drawing five or more targets in some games when Houston's top receivers were out or limited. I can't confirm any of that applies to the current roster.
The snap split is the problem. NBC's recap says he played 27 snaps to Boutte's 39, and it calls the offense not good enough to justify leaning on a third receiver. The platoon means no receiver has a stable workload. I found nothing current showing he has a full-time job.
Where analysts split
The question is whether he or Boutte holds the third receiver job in the Caley platoon. The one current source I found (NBC Sports) leans toward Boutte on snaps, while Hutchinson has produced slightly more in recent games. I found no second current analyst to set against it.
