Filip Forsberg
Forsberg is Nashville's top-line-adjacent left wing and a power-play regular, but I could not read a current line page, so his exact slot today is unconfirmed.
Role
The fetch of Daily Faceoff's line page failed, so I cannot say what it lists today. Third-party pages that cite Daily Faceoff's pre-game reporting put him at left wing on the second line. 5V5 Hockey (Oct 17, 2026) has him with Matthew Wood and Nils Hoglander, and ESPN's line page has him with Alexander Kerfoot and Hoglander. Both pages have Steven Stamkos and Ryan O'Reilly on the top line. 5V5 Hockey's Oct 17 snapshot puts him on PP1 with O'Reilly, Jonathan Marchessault, Stamkos and Roman Josi. ESPN's page lists him on PP1 as well, but under defense. A Shipitnation report from about 8 days ago says he moved down to Line 2 for the game at Pittsburgh, which implies he had been higher. I did not read the page itself, so treat that as unverified. The Morning Puck page, about 11 days old, shows him on the third line, with 20:45 on ice in one game. Competition for his spot comes from Stamkos, Marchessault, Kerfoot and Mavrik Bourque. I found no ice-time average for this season.
He is on the first power-play unit in the snapshots I found, next to O'Reilly, Marchessault, Stamkos and Josi. Last season he had 17 points in 14 games, 7 of them on the power play, with 37 shots. If he stays on PP1 and moves back up to the top line, he carries the most offensive weight on the roster.
Several pages have him on the second line, and one report says he was moved down from Line 1 to Line 2. The Morning Puck page, about 11 days old, even shows him on the third line. Lines are changing often, and the lineup includes Stamkos, O'Reilly, Marchessault and Bourque. If he loses PP1 time or the top-line slot, his scoring opportunities shrink. His 14 games last season are also a small sample.
Where analysts split
The open question is whether he plays on the top line with O'Reilly and Stamkos or on the second line. The sources I found are also inconsistent about who his center is: Wood in some, Kerfoot in ESPN's. The sources agree on PP1, with the one difference that ESPN lists him in a defense slot. The pages I found were not all equally current, and I could not read Daily Faceoff directly.
Research confidence: thin. Outlooks are grounded in web search over current reporting and refreshed through the season.
