Jason Robertson
Robertson is a second-line left wing on Dallas's current projected lines and appears on the first power-play unit in the sources I could read, with no injury designation on him.
Role
Projected lines from 27 October (5v5 Hockey, which says it draws on Daily Faceoff pre-game reporting) and from The Hockey News via Yahoo and The Morning Puck (both about five days old) put him on the left side of Roope Hintz and Tyler Seguin. Joel Kiviranta skates with Wyatt Johnston and Mikko Rantanen on the top line in those same projections. The Morning Puck's version has Robertson on the top line and Johnston-Rantanen on the second, so the line number varies by source. For the power play, 5v5 Hockey lists Robertson on PP1 with Johnston, Hintz, Rantanen and Miro Heiskanen. The Morning Puck lists him among its power-play names and says the units are expected to match the last game. I did not find a time-on-ice figure for this season. My fetch of Daily Faceoff's Stars line page returned a version last updated 9 March 2026 with no player names, so I am not citing it. Check the live lines before lock.
He is on a line with Hintz and Seguin and he has a power-play spot alongside Rantanen, Johnston and Heiskanen, so his usage looks like a top-six scorer's. Last season's line was 14 GP, 5 G, 9 A, 14 PTS, 4 PPP and 44 SOG in 279 TOI. Optimists would say a full, healthy run in that role is the whole story.
Last season he played only 14 games, and I found no current reporting on why or on how his workload is being managed now. At least one projection has Kiviranta, not Robertson, on the top line next to Johnston and Rantanen, and the Stars have been rearranging lines. The power-play listings I found are inconsistent: 5v5 Hockey's PP1 puts Robertson at a defense slot and shows Rantanen on both units. That makes his exact power-play role unclear.
Where analysts split
The open question is whether he stays with Hintz and Seguin on the second line or moves back up beside Johnston and Rantanen. The sources I read disagree on this. A second question is whether his first power-play unit spot holds, because the unit listings differ in detail.
Research confidence: thin. Outlooks are grounded in web search over current reporting and refreshed through the season.
