Hayden Gray
Hayden Gray is a free agent with no NBA role this season, so he has no rotation value unless a team signs him.
Role
He has no NBA role. RotoWire's transaction note dated October 17, 2026 says Boston waived him, and RealGM's transaction log also lists the Celtics waiver on that date. He signed with Boston on September 23, 2026. His only NBA appearance was one game for Utah in 2025-26, in which RealGM shows 24.8 minutes, 6.0 points and 1 assist. No team has reported a rotation slot, minutes or usage for him. He may land with Maine in the G League, but I found nothing confirming it.
He is 23 and 6-4, and he won Big West Defensive Player of the Year in 2025 at UC San Diego. Wikipedia says he led the nation in total steals that season. Utah gave him a multi-year deal in April 2026. That is the case for a ball-hawking guard who could get another NBA look, but I found no analyst arguing it for this season.
He has been waived by Boston twice, in September 2025 and October 2026. His NBA résumé is one game. No team currently holds his contract, and I found no reporting that anyone intends to sign him. A single 24.8-minute game gives almost no basis for projecting NBA production.
Where analysts split
Broad agreement. I found no analyst coverage of his fantasy role, only transaction records and ratings pages. The open question is whether any team signs him, and nothing reported answers it.
Research confidence: thin. Outlooks are grounded in web search over current reporting and refreshed through the season.
