Bhayshul Tuten
Tuten is Jacksonville's lead back for the rest of 2026, and his snap share has risen each recent week, though Chris Rodriguez Jr. still takes a share of the work.

Athlon, citing PFF, has him at 49 of 72 offensive snaps (68 percent) in the 19-17 win over the Eagles. That is up from 59 percent at Cincinnati and 52 percent over the first four games. The wire note has him at 22 carries and three targets in that game. Chris Rodriguez Jr. is the main competitor. He signed a two-year deal this offseason and, per a Yahoo piece from OTAs, was expected to take regular snaps in a rotation. I did not find a current snap or touch figure for Rodriguez. I also did not find a read on who handles third downs, goal-line work or passing downs.
Travis Etienne left for New Orleans and the Jaguars brought in no major veteran, so the job is Tuten's. Athlon says he has pulled away in a backfield that used to be shared. Roundtable.io reported he was PFF's second-highest graded RB through four weeks. Athlon had him at 204 rushing yards and two touchdowns in his first three starts. Optimists also point to his college receiving work and to last year's efficiency in a small role. Black & Teal cited a 48.3 percent rushing success rate, third among 55 backs with 75 or more carries.
He averaged only 3.7 yards per carry as a rookie, and he has never carried a lead workload in the NFL. Yahoo noted that head coach Liam Coen seemed to favor a rotation with Rodriguez. His snap share was 52 percent over the first four games, so the 68 percent in London may not repeat. His 72 yards on 22 carries against the Eagles shows volume without much efficiency. The wire note also has him with two catches on three targets in that game, which is modest receiving usage. I did not see current reporting that settles his passing-down role.
Where analysts split
The open question is whether the 68 percent snap share in London is the new norm or an outlier, and whether Coen keeps a real rotation with Rodriguez. Athlon reads the trend as Tuten pulling away. Offseason coverage expected a split. I found no current analyst making the committee case in so many words.
