Per ESPN (published within the last day), Williams has played 70% of the Rams' offensive snaps (287 of 410) and Corum 28% (114 of 410). In Sunday's loss to the Cardinals, Williams played 40 snaps to Corum's 16. Williams had 10 carries and three catches, and Corum had nine carries and two catches including a touchdown. A Reuters item from the same day has Corum at 27.2% of snaps over five games, with Ronnie Rivers at 6.5%. Corum's lowest recent share was 15% (13 snaps) in the Eagles game, per Yahoo's Rams Wire. FantasyData's depth chart snippet (about a day old, not fetched) lists Williams first, Corum second and Dean Connors third. Corum is efficient on a small snap count. He nearly matched Williams' carries in Week 2 and had 23 touches for 146 yards in Weeks 1 and 2. Sunday he got within one touch of Williams' total on less than half the snaps and scored. Preseason coverage, including ESPN's Dan Graziano per a Fantasy Football Calculator snippet, argued he could grow into a 1A. A fumble by Williams earlier this season was cited as a possible opening.
The snap trend has gone against him since Week 3. Williams' share has risen and Corum's has fallen to as low as 15%. FantasyData notes he had 14 touches for 36 yards over Weeks 3 and 4. Reuters suggests Williams is trusted more in blocking situations, which keeps him on the field for most downs. Williams also keeps the receiving and goal-line work.
