Irving is Tampa Bay's lead back after a 24-carry, 106-yard, two-touchdown game, but the ESPN fantasy blurb (published after that game) says Kenneth Gainwell and Sean Tucker could cut into his role.

He led the 43-13 win at Carolina with 24 carries for 106 yards and two touchdowns, and Pewter Report has him taking 10 carries and a catch on the opening drive. Gainwell had 14 carries for 88 yards, and Tucker had 7 carries for 52 yards, including a 46-yard touchdown run (Buccaneers.com, BVM Sports). Fox Sports' player page, from earlier in the week, listed Irving as the lead back ahead of Gainwell and Tucker. I found no snap-share or target-share figures. In that game he was targeted twice and caught one pass for four yards. Tampa Bay ran the ball on 81.6% of its offensive snaps, which looks like a game-script outlier in a blowout with Baker Mayfield just back from a thumb injury.
He is the acknowledged lead back, and the game plan featured him early and often. ESPN's game logs show his two best carry totals of the season in the last four games (21 and 24), and he scored twice against Carolina. Fox Sports lists him as the lead back, and he carried the opening drive. Tampa Bay is 2-5 entering Week 8 and says it wants to run the ball.
ESPN's fantasy note says he failed to clear 4.2 yards per carry in any of his 10 outings and had zero carries inside the opponent's 5-yard line (this was written before or around the Carolina game, which had a 4-yard touchdown run and a 1-yard touchdown run, so check that against the box score). It also says his small frame (5-foot-9, 192 pounds) and the arrival of Gainwell, with Tucker at the goal line, suggest he might play a lesser role going forward. Gainwell averaged 6.3 yards per carry against Carolina. Irving also fumbled, though Tampa Bay recovered it. His yards per carry were 3.1, 3.8, 7.9, 2.4 and 4.4 over the last five games per ESPN's game log.
Where analysts split
Whether Irving keeps the bulk of the carries or Gainwell and Tucker take a bigger share. ESPN's note leans toward a reduced role. Fox Sports and the Carolina game plan point to him as the lead. Per Fox, Irving was the lead back ahead of both, and the 24 carries against Carolina support that. Coverage does not show a consistent snap split, so this is unresolved.
