George Holani
Holani is a complementary Seattle back who had a small pass-catching role in the 49ers loss. Current coverage has Emanuel Wilson ahead of him and rookie Jadarian Price expected to take over lead duties.

ESPN's fantasy note, indexed about a day ago, calls him a complementary option to "current lead back" Emanuel Wilson. It says Price "figures to get the first shot" at lead duties. The wire note has him at four carries and four catches on four targets against San Francisco. I found no snap share or target share, and I did not read a depth chart. A Fox Sports page indexed about 16 days ago said he was limited in practice with a rib injury. ESPN later added a knee issue and said he would play through both. Neither is a current designation.
Preseason coverage (SI, Yahoo) called him the frontrunner or a sleeper. It pointed to his pass protection and 47 snaps across the NFC Championship and Super Bowl. Kenneth Walker III left for Kansas City and Zach Charbonnet tore his ACL, so the backfield is thin. His four catches on four targets show he can be used in the passing game.
A Fox Sports item indexed about 16 days ago says Holani "continues to lose ground" in the backfield despite training camp buzz. Seattle is also working with other backs. ESPN lists Wilson as the lead back and Price as next in line for that job. The wire note adds a lost fumble on four carries and 7 yards, which will not help his case for touches. The team also reportedly worked out Joe Mixon.
Where analysts split
The disagreement is over whether Holani holds a real change-of-pace and passing-down job or gets squeezed out by Wilson and Price. Preseason pieces had him as the lead-back candidate. Current items have him behind both, and I found no snap data to settle it.
