As of the latest coverage (Heavy and ESPN, both dated today), he is the fourth name on the running back list behind Barkley (injured), Dameon Pierce and Carson Steele, and he is listed as a practice-squad player. No snap share, touch count or target share exists for him this season. Barkley is week-to-week with a hamstring injury, Tank Bigsby is on injured reserve with a core muscle issue, and Shipley has a partial plantar fascia tear that could keep him out multiple weeks. Heavy says Pierce is the current favorite for the No. 1 job if Barkley is out, and that the team's plan for Blue is unclear. Athlon (via Yahoo) said his ball security and pass protection have not been strong suits, which it gave as the reason he started on the practice squad. Dallas waived him after he failed to win its backup job. Athlon also wrote that he would see significant time only if the backfield were ravaged by injury. His rookie line was 38 carries for 129 yards (3.4 per carry) and one catch for five yards. Pierce and Steele are the more experienced backs ahead of him.
