Love is a rookie No. 3 overall pick who rotates with Tyler Allgeier. He had one bell-cow game in Week 3, and coaches say they will keep rotating him.

Snap share has swung week to week. Reported figures: 44% in Week 1, about 40% in Week 2 (12 touches to Allgeier's 7), a large share in Week 3 (21 carries, 90 yards, a receiving TD), and 46% in Week 4 (30 snaps to Allgeier's 36, per the Cardinals' site and Yahoo). Allgeier is the better pass protector and got the passing-down and red-zone work in Week 4 (10 red-zone snaps to Love's 2, per NextGen Stats via azcardinals.com). In Week 4 Love led the backfield in carries, 14 to 8. FantasyPros listed a 23.1% route share and 2.9% target share for Week 4. Bam Knight is also in the room. For Week 5, NBC Sports said Love was the only Cardinals back with a carry in the first quarter, then was pulled early in the blowout. I did not find a Week 5 snap count. Love had 12 carries for 22 yards and missed on his only target.
ESPN's player page (checked in this search) calls him a three-down feature back with 4.36 speed and a top-3 draft pedigree. It cites past top-12 backs finishing as top-12 fantasy rookies. Heavy.com argues his explosiveness and receiving ability point toward him eventually becoming the clear lead back. He got 21 carries in Week 3 and led the backfield in carries in Week 4. He leads early-down work even in the weeks his snaps dip.
Coach Mike LaFleur said publicly the backs will rotate, that he has no idea how many carries Love will get, and that the usage is not committed week to week. Allgeier has taken the passing-down, final-drive and red-zone snaps. Love has an ankle problem: Yahoo cited a high-ankle sprain and fatigue, and NBC Sports reported he hurt his other ankle and was limited in practice. Love also said he would tell coaches when Allgeier or Knight could handle a task better. The offense trails often, with a 45-21 loss in Week 5. Raising Zona says he has not been getting enough usage even in the first half.
Where analysts split
Whether Love is the lead back or a committee piece. ESPN projects a feature role, while NBC Sports treats him as a fringe RB2/RB3 given the rotation, his ankle and his comments about preferring a snap count. The deciding question is whether Arizona keeps him on the field on passing downs and in the red zone, or defaults to Allgeier.
