Josh Jacobs
Jacobs is back as Green Bay's lead back after a six-game absence on the commissioner's exempt list, and he looked like a full-workload starter in his Week 7 debut.

In the Week 7 loss at Detroit (20-17), Jacobs played 35 snaps, which ACME Packing Company put at 54 percent of the offense. It also noted he played 59 percent of snaps in his 15 games last season. He had 11 carries for 36 yards and five catches on seven targets for 55 yards and a touchdown, 16 touches in all. MarShawn Lloyd was the clear No. 2 with 22 snaps (ACME) or 24 (Yahoo/Packers On SI), and the reports differ on the count. Lloyd handled the other eight backfield touches. Pierre Strong Jr. played eight snaps and had no touches, and Kaleb Johnson was a healthy scratch. ACME says Jacobs played his full share of reps and was not on a pitch count. Green Bay's next game is Thursday night at home against the Panthers (CBS Sports).
He took the lead role immediately, with no visible snap limit, and pushed Strong to RB3 and Johnson out of the game-day picture. He was also used as a receiver: seven targets, a 25-yard touchdown catch from Jordan Love, and a dropped touchdown late. Athlon's coverage, citing Locked On Packers host Peter Bukowski, framed him as the underneath option Green Bay had been missing. CBS Sports/RotoWire expects him to keep a majority share of the backfield work.
Running room was scarce: Jacobs averaged about 3.3 yards per carry (36 yards on 11 carries), and the team as a whole averaged 3.2. The starting center, Sean Rhyan, was knocked out after four snaps, and his backup lasted five snaps. That leaves the line shuffled. He played 54 percent of snaps, so Lloyd still gets meaningful work, and Jacobs had a costly drop on third down. He had not played a meaningful snap since last season, so his conditioning is still an open question.

Broad agreement on his role: he is the lead back and Lloyd is the secondary option. The coverage I found does not contain a real split. The open question is efficiency behind a shaky offensive line, not how much work he gets.
