Ollie Gordon II
Ollie Gordon is Miami's lead back for the rest of 2026 after De'Von Achane's season-ending ACL tear, but his workload is not secure, and the undisclosed injury behind his Questionable tag adds uncertainty.
Role
NBC Sports (Rotoworld) calls him the No. 1 back. In the Bengals game he had 18 carries for 88 yards and a touchdown on 42 snaps, took all of Miami's red zone backfield touches, and left briefly with an undisclosed injury (FantasyData, NBC). Against Minnesota he played 22 of 39 snaps (56%) to Jaylen Wright's 12, with 9 carries for 100 yards and a touchdown (Athlon, Rotoballer). In the Chiefs game after Achane left, FantasyPros says he played 61 snaps and had 17 carries and 3 targets. Wright (stinger and foot injury) and Kaytron Allen are the other backs. FantasyData's depth chart snippet lists Gordon first, Wright second and Allen third, but I did not open that page, so I can't confirm it is current. I found no reporting on any game after the Bengals game, and I did not verify his current practice status.
He is the biggest back on the roster at about 226 pounds, and he has scored in three straight games. He set a career high in carries even while Miami trailed, and he gets the goal-line work. NBC Rotoworld treats him as a starter and a low-end RB2/FLEX. With Achane gone, the touches are concentrated in him.
His production has been uneven. He ran for 41 yards on 17 carries against Kansas City, and his 100-yard game came on nine carries, including a 53-yard run. Before this year he was a sixth-round pick in a reserve role, and it was often unclear whether he or Wright was the No. 2 behind Achane. Wright is a speed back, healthy again, and still has a role. Coach Jeff Hafley has said every back will have a role (FantasyPros). The undisclosed injury could also cost him snaps or games.
Where analysts split
The split is whether Gordon is the clear lead back or part of a committee with Wright. NBC Rotoworld and the snap data from the Bengals game point to Gordon as the workhorse. RotoWire argued that Wright is first in line for touches now that he is healthy and that the speed and power backs will both get roles. The Bengals game, with Wright active, supports the workhorse reading, but I found no later data.
