Pollard is the Titans' lead early-down back, and he just had his biggest game of the season with Tyjae Spears out, though his share has swung from week to week.

Athlon's postgame snap counts (published after the Browns game) have Pollard at 47 snaps with Spears out and Michael Carter at 16. Before that, his snap share ranged from 34-22 over Spears in Week 4 to 30-34 in Week 5 (48% vs. 54%), then 34 of 45 snaps (75.6%) in the Week 6 win over the Colts, per Athlon and Yahoo. Pollard gets the carries: 14 of 17 team rushes in Week 5 and 19 carries in Indianapolis. Spears is the pass-down back, with 27 routes to Pollard's 14 in Week 5. Through six games Pollard had 87 carries for 349 yards and one touchdown (Athlon). Spears was questionable with a knee injury before the Browns game and did not play. I found no report on whether he returns, and I did not check the official depth chart or injury report.
He is the early-down and goal-line back in an offense that keeps running him, and his 25 carries and three touchdowns against Cleveland show that. If Spears' knee or his lagging production keeps him limited, Pollard could keep the bulk of the snaps, as he did in Week 6 when he had about 76% of them. A Yahoo piece from four days ago argues Spears' struggles are limiting his own opportunities.
The split changes from week to week, and Spears has out-snapped him when the Titans trail, including 34-30 in Week 5, because Cam Ward leans on him as a safety valve. Pollard is 29 and in the final year of his contract. The Athlon preview describes the Titans as weighing his future at the deadline. The Browns game was a spike with Spears out, and the Titans also have rookie Nicholas Singleton, drafted in the 2026 draft, on the roster. I found no coverage of Singleton's current role.
Where analysts split
The question is whether Spears' growing pass-down role will keep cutting into Pollard's snaps when Spears is healthy. Athlon's snap-count pieces say Spears is overtaking him as Ward's safety valve. A Yahoo piece says Spears' lack of growth is costing him work and Pollard's share is climbing. A second question is whether Pollard is still on the roster after the deadline, which I could not confirm.
