Week 3 Injury Read: Nacua, Collins and Flowers All Missed Wednesday

Three top-20 receivers sat out Wednesday, Rico Dowdle is in a boot, and Jayden Reed is out for Thursday night. Here's who to start and who to pivot from.

Trending out

Jayden Daniels is confirmed out with the left elbow, no timeline, more medical opinions pending. Marcus Mariota starts. Jaxson Dart is done for the regular season after knee surgery — drop him outside deep dynasty. Alec Pierce went to IR with the heel, no return date. David Njoku is on IR with a fibula; Oronde Gadsden inherits the Chargers' tight end targets. Jonathon Brooks had core-muscle surgery, six weeks minimum, which cements Chuba Hubbard. A.J. Brown is still on IR with the high-ankle sprain and won't help you before late October.

Caleb Williams is Doubtful with a hamstring and didn't practice Wednesday. Keenum looks like the Monday starter. Don't wait on it — Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes or Dak Prescott if you need a body. Dallas Goedert is Doubtful with a sprained MCL and multi-week, so Grant Calcaterra is the Philly leftover and Trey McBride or Colston Loveland is the real answer.

Rico Dowdle is the ugliest one: toe, walking boot, DNP Wednesday, severity undisclosed. Treat him as leaning out. Saquon Barkley's stinger has him Questionable with no clarifying practice news since Sunday — that's thin reporting, and thin reporting on a neck issue is not comfort. Josh Jacobs remains on the Commissioner's Exempt List, unavailable.

Routine — start them

Jakobi Meyers (thumb, limited) is a recurring management tag that hasn't cost him a game. Start him. Jalen Coker was limited with the ankle he already played through for eight catches last week — he plays.

DJ Moore was limited Wednesday and said he "felt great" on the AC joint. He hasn't taken contact, so glance at Friday, but this is trending to a start. Sam Darnold was officially limited with the glute and is ramping; Seattle names a starter Friday, and the signs point his way. Jaylen Warren was limited with the shoulder and, with Dowdle in a boot, has a path to a genuinely big workload — he's a flex you can feel good about.

Malik Nabers practiced Wednesday with the shoulder he already played through. Not confirmed until Friday, but he's the Giants' only real target and you start him. Tyjae Spears and Tony Pollard both sat Wednesday with ankles, but Tennessee's coaching staff isn't flagging real risk — check Friday, plan on both playing. Brock Bowers was limited on the meniscus and looks headed for his season debut, though he hasn't gone full.

Game-time decisions and the pivot

Puka Nacua (groin) did not practice Wednesday and already missed Week 2; McVay says he could go later in the week. That's a Thursday-or-Friday answer on a Monday night game, which is the worst combination. If he sits, Davante Adams is the beneficiary — 195 yards and two scores Monday — and Matthew Stafford stays startable regardless.

Nico Collins (hamstring) was a full non-participant Wednesday after missing Week 2, with reporting that he could miss two games. Unless he practices Thursday or Friday, plan without him; Jaxon Smith-Njigba or Ladd McConkey are the clean swaps. Zay Flowers is the same shape — hamstring, missed Week 2, DNP Wednesday. Don't trust him as a starter until he practices.

Denver's backfield is a mess and all three are tagged: J.K. Dobbins limited (hip, downgraded from hamstring), RJ Harvey limited for a third straight session on the hamstring, Jonah Coleman DNP with an ankle sprain. Dobbins is the one closest to playable; none is a confident start. Jadarian Price will practice per Macdonald, but the level is unspecified — if he can't go, Wilson and Holani split. Mike Evans sat Wednesday on planned hip management, not a setback; Friday tells you. Michael Pittman's foot tag comes with genuinely thin reporting — limited Wednesday and nothing else — so hold a bench option. Caleb Douglas (ankle, DNP) needs full participation Friday to matter. Aaron Jones is Questionable with no disclosed issue and no practice detail; that's a Sunday-morning check, and he plays 81% of snaps when he's out there.

Thursday night

Green Bay hosts Atlanta and these lock first. Jayden Reed is ruled out with the neck injury he was carted off for — the team says it's too early to know whether he plays again this season. That's not a one-week absence; move on from him in redraft and expect Green Bay's slot work to redistribute.

Josh Jacobs is still on the Commissioner's Exempt List and cannot practice or dress. Kaleb Johnson and the rest of the Packers backfield are splitting carries with no clear lead — playable in desperation only, and you're guessing which one gets the volume.

On the other side, Drake London is healthy and has no designation. He's the cleanest start in this game.
