Week 8 Sunday: Hall Sits, A.J. Brown Out, Jackson Confirmed

Breece Hall isn't expected to play and A.J. Brown is ruled out. Lamar Jackson, Rashee Rice and Ladd McConkey are go. Pivots by position, plus the late games still unknown.

Ruled out this morning

A.J. Brown (knee/ankle) is ruled out at Miami. He was held out of Friday's practice and New England will lean on Douglas, Chism and Henry. DeVonta Smith (hamstring) is listed out for the Sunday night game at Washington, his second straight miss, with Nov. 8 the target for his return. Carnell Tate (shoulder) will not play at Cincinnati and is expected back after the Titans' bye, Nov. 15 against Jacksonville.

Breece Hall carries a questionable tag against the Raiders, but Ian Rapoport reports he isn't expected to play, with Braelon Allen in line to start. Treat Hall as out until the Jets' inactive list confirms it 90 minutes before kickoff. RJ Harvey is out for Denver with a knee injury.

On bye: Christian McCaffrey, Mike Evans, David Montgomery, Woody Marks, Cam Skattebo, Travis Etienne Jr. Christian Watson said he broke a rib Thursday night; Green Bay's next game is Nov. 8, so that's a Week 9 question.

Active, go ahead and start them

Lamar Jackson is confirmed by Jesse Minter to play at Buffalo. He practiced fully Wednesday and Thursday. He's missed three games with the high-ankle sprain, so the rushing explosiveness is a fair worry, but he's in your lineup.

Rashee Rice will play at Denver, his first game since Week 4. No restriction was reported, though none was ruled out either. Ladd McConkey is off the injury report entirely after clearing concussion protocol. Tyler Warren is good to go after two missed games. Jahmyr Gibbs, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Ja'Marr Chase and Brock Bowers all practiced fully Thursday after sitting Wednesday: start all four.

Expected to play, with a little more risk: George Pickens (shoulder/hamstring, limited all week), Jakobi Meyers (sat Friday), DJ Moore (AC joint, still limited), Dalton Kincaid (chest, Bills optimistic). Aaron Jones Sr. has no designation and shares with Jordan Mason. Michael Wilson has no designation but his coach tied his workload to pain tolerance, so trim expectations slightly.

The pivot by position

Lost Hall? Kenneth Walker III, Bijan Robinson and James Cook III are the clean healthy options; if you're shopping lower, Chuba Hubbard already played Thursday (22 carries, 81 yards, a TD, plus 7 catches) and Jonathan Taylor is a workhorse, trade chatter aside. Tony Pollard gets the Titans backfield largely to himself with Tyjae Spears out.

Lost A.J. Brown or DeVonta Smith? Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Puka Nacua are the top healthy starts, then CeeDee Lamb, Zay Flowers, Justin Jefferson and Parker Washington. In Tennessee, Wan'Dale Robinson steps into an elevated role with Tate out.

Tight end: Trey McBride and Sam LaPorta are the straightforward pivots off Kincaid. Quarterback: Josh Allen, Trevor Lawrence, Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow and Drake Maye are all available-tier healthy.

The late games

Inactives for the 21:05 and 21:25 UTC kicks are not out yet. Jaylen Waddle (chest) is the one to watch: Rapoport says he's trending positive, but he was limited Thursday and Friday and may need a clean warmup. Check 90 minutes before the Chiefs game.

Also unresolved until the lists drop: Kansas City at Denver, where Rice is confirmed and Travis Kelce has no designation, and Chargers at Rams, where McConkey is clear.

Monday's games have their own clock. Saquon Barkley has no designation at Washington, as does Stefon Diggs. Colston Loveland and Zach Charbonnet both carry no designation into Bears-Seahawks, but Charbonnet is returning from a torn ACL into a crowded backfield and his workload is genuinely unknown. Don't start him on faith.
